While The Octopus Project, the group Senior Rolling Stone Editor David Fricke described as "an outtake of the Beach Boys' Good Vibrations with Mogwai as the studio band," gears up for another extensive North American tour and begins work on its new record, Peek-A-Boo is proud announce the vinyl reissues of their first two albums.

In 2001, the Octopus Project's reputation as the band that "hooked up their half-broken electronic shit all wrong" first attracted the label's attention, but actually seeing them play way too loud one Friday night sealed the deal, and by the end of the weekend Peek-A-Boo had agreed to release the band's brilliant debut, Identification Parade, in the spring of 2002. Best described as "ambidextrous equipment-failure junk-tronica," this record deftly combines the experimentation of progressive post-rock, the blips and bleeps of electronic music, and the raw, human rock of rock. Organic instruments like guitars, bass, drums, bells, and Theremin blend with electronic beats, programmed loops and well-chosen samples to create a soundtrack that ranges from lush and haunting to danceable grooves to outright rock.
