Portland, OR-based indie folk outfit Blue Giant were formed in the late 2000s by Viva Voce couple Kevin and Anita Robinson, Chris Funk (the Decemberists), Evan Railton (Swords), and Seth Lorinczi (the Golden Bears). Equal parts George Jones, Gram Parsons, Fleet Foxes, and Blitzen Trapper, the band blended country roots with indie pop effervescence on its 2010 self-titled debut for Vanguard Records.
