Beirut

March of the Zapotec
Add to Cart

For his latest release, Beirut band leader, Zach Condon, decided to write and record an album with the 19 piece Jimenez Band, from the tiny weaver village ofTeotitlan del Valle, deep in the heart of Oaxaca, Mexico. Why not, Beirut’s world traveling, world influenced indie pop has yet to disappoint. Before recording as Beirut, Condon went by Realpeople for his bedroom recordings, and he has revived the name for the second half in this collection, Holland. As opposed to March of the Zapotec, Holland collects a series of songs conceived and completed at home.
